What do GEO and AEO mean?
GEO means Generative Engine Optimization: the work of influencing how a brand appears in the answers of artificial intelligence assistants. AEO means Answer Engine Optimization, used in the market as a neighboring term. GeoTopX works with both.
Does GeoTopX guarantee my brand will be cited?
No, and no honest tool can guarantee that. Presence in artificial intelligence answers is probabilistic and varies between runs of the same question. What GeoTopX does is measure that variation, show what is associated with the citations that do exist, and point to changes with the evidence that motivates them.
Why does the same question give different answers?
Because generative engines are stochastic: the same question can produce different text on each run, and models change version without notice. That is why GeoTopX runs each question several times and publishes the sample size and the variation next to every number. A result without a stated sample is not a measurement.
How do you know which source generated the answer?
We do not, and we do not claim to. What GeoTopX records is which sources were cited or observed alongside the answer. Saying that a source fed the answer would be a causal claim the available evidence does not support.
Does Cortex predict the future?
Cortex estimates the likely impact of a change and states the confidence level of that estimate. An estimate is not causal evidence: only a proper experiment supports that conclusion, and when one exists the result is presented as such.
Do you collect data by bypassing site blocks?
No. Collection respects each origin's declared policy and does not bypass CAPTCHA, authentication, paywalls or blocks. When a source cannot be collected, it appears in the report as an unavailable source, not as an absence of mention.
Where is my data held?
Your account and analysis data are handled under the Privacy Policy and Brazil’s General Data Protection Law. You can request an export of your data and deletion of your account at any time by writing to privacy@geotopx.io. Self-service for those two actions has not shipped yet.
Do I need to install anything on my site?
Not for answer monitoring, which is done from the outside. The technical site audit reads your public pages the way any search engine would. Optional integrations with Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools are set up by you, whenever you want.
